Crowdsourcing Map Release

The Metro Board of Directors, at its meeting on May 24, 2018, authorized the Phase 3 Expansion of the Metro Bike Share program which includes the communities of Palms, Mar Vista, Del Rey, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista, located within Los Angeles City Council Districts 11 and 5.

Since then, Metro and the city of Los Angeles have been working diligently to develop a list of potential station locations for the public to consider. The list of potential locations was carefully developed by examining suggested locations in a previously released countywide crowdsourcing map, station spacing, access and convenience, safety considerations, land use and destination patterns, discussions with L.A. Council Districts and local stakeholders and a Bike Share Suitability Index developed by an outside consulting firm.

The Westside Crowdsourcing map has been released and will be live and open for public input through July 31st. Residents and visitors are able to indicate whether they like or dislike a potential location, and leave comments and suggestions about potential locations by visiting the crowdsourcing map located at the following URL: Expansion.html

Metro hopes to gather the largest amount of public input possible on potential station locations and encourages the sharing of the Crowdsourcing Map with as many constituents and community stakeholders as possible as well as sharing via social media, newsletters and other platforms.
